Air Cleaner Installation
Breathe Clean Air Again! Call Us for Air Purifier Installation in Sarasota
Does the thought of breathing pollen, dust, pet dander, or viruses make you uneasy? Are you noticing musty, stale, or funky odors throughout your home?
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, Americans spend about 90 percent of their time indoors at home, where indoor air pollutants can be as high as 2 to 5 times more than outdoor air.
If you’re noticing it feels harder to breathe in your home, it’s time to get your HVAC unit inspected, and it might be time to update or replace your air cleaner.
Here’s what could be happening—your current air cleaners could be dirty and clogged, you may have had the wrong air filter installed in the past, or your HVAC system’s basic fiberglass filter isn’t enough to keep your home’s interior air clean.
Indoor air pollution is a common problem in homes throughout the U.S. because many people don’t realize the importance of having an air purifier in their home. With so many people now working from home, the health risk of air pollution is even higher.

So how do you fix this problem?
It’s hard to know how to fix indoor air pollution and bad odors if you don’t know where the problem is coming from. That’s why it’s so important to call for trained and experienced HVAC technicians to evaluate your situation.
Contact Modern Air and Refrigeration, and we’ll examine and inspect the system you currently have in your home and find out the best solution for you and your family.
If it turns out you need air purification installation, Modern air will come out to your home and install an air cleaner system in your HVAC ductwork. Imagine the difference when the dirty odors are gone, and you can breathe fresh, clean air in your home again.
Some of the most common types of air purifiers we install in HVAC systems are:
HEPA Filters:
High-efficiency particulate air filters are pleated filters that are known for removing most allergens and air contaminants like mold, bacteria, dust, and pollen. These can be cleaned and replaced with Modern Air’s Comfort Club maintenance plan to ensure they continue cleaning the air and performing properly.
Media and Particle Filters:
Disposable filters that go into permanent filter housing. Each filter is rated based on its performance and how much dirt it can filter, which is called the Minimum Efficiency Reporting Values (MERV). Though the highest MERV filters (12-16) remove the most air particles, they also block the air flow. Modern Air installs MERV 11 air filters for maximum results in air cleaning and air flow.
Electronic Air Filters:
These are installed into your HVAC ductwork and they work by removing pollutants through electrically charged particles that filter the air in your home. The downside of these filters is that they need replacement regularly, so they’re not installed as often as other types of filters.
Do Air Cleaners Reduce Health risks?
According to the EPA.gov, air cleaners can be effective in removing invisible contaminated particles from indoor air that could have damaging health effects.
When a home’s indoor air is polluted, health effects can range from mild to more severe—from eye, skin, and lung irritants to cancer or lung disease. If you have family members in fragile health, it’s especially important to ensure the air they’re breathing is free of harmful particles.
It’s crucial to have your air filters changed out regularly if one of your family members smokes cigarettes. Though it won’t remove the negative health effects of cigarettes, it will help improve the air quality. Keep in mind that air filters may need to be replaced more often in these cases.
Are there any other ways to keep the air in my home clean?
At Modern Air, we also offer HVAC duct cleaning services, but only if we inspect our clients air ducts and find debris, dirt, mold, or mildew. We won’t fix a problem that doesn’t exist, and we’re always honest with our clients if they don’t need our services in some areas.
Do you need an air duct inspection? Here are some signs you might want to call us ASAP:
- Your family members are struggling with increased allergy symptoms, or unexplained health problems that seem to be related to the air quality in your home.
- You’re noticing musty odors and mold growth on your air ducts or return registers.
Even if you’re not noticing health symptoms, if your HVAC air ducts are dirty or moldy, it still might be a good idea to get them cleaned and maintained regularly.
Keep in mind, it’s important to hire a company that knows how to clean air ducts properly. If they aren’t cleaned the right way, a poor cleaning system can stir up contaminants and release them into the air.
If you’re noticing your allergies have gone crazy lately, and the air in your home doesn’t seem as clean as it used to be, schedule an air purifier inspection with Modern Air and Refrigeration today. We’ll get your home’s air back to fresh and clean again!
